Short answer
Simpro doesn’t publish prices. You get a quote based on how many office and field users you have, the add-ons you pick, and a one-off setup fee. There’s no free trial.
What customers report paying works out at about A$85–100 per person a month for small and mid-sized teams: about A$7,000 a year for six staff, and A$25,000 a year for 24. One long-time customer pays more than A$250 per office licence a month.
Watch the contract more than the price. Customers report three-year terms that auto-renew, and existing customers were offered the new Lightning AI upgrade at a 15% to 25% uplift.

How Simpro pricing works
Simpro’s pricing page shows one Base Plan and a list of add-ons, with no dollar figures. Its FAQ says the price is “tailored to your team size, whether in the office or field, and customized to include the add-ons you need”, and that you can choose monthly or annual billing.
Four things set your quote:
- Office users. Staff who quote, schedule, invoice and run reports. These are the expensive licences.
- Field users. Technicians who use Simpro Mobile on site. Cheaper per head, but you’ll usually have more of them.
- Add-ons. Digital Forms, extra Data Feeds (three are included), Maintenance Planner, Takeoffs, Simtrac GPS fleet tracking, SMS and VoIP each cost extra.
- Setup. Simpro’s FAQ confirms “an initial setup fee to cover onboarding, training, and data migration”, priced on how complex your business is.
The core product is called Simpro Premium. In 2026 Simpro added Lightning, a layer of AI tools, and is moving existing customers onto it.
What customers say they pay
Since Simpro won’t publish a price, the best guide is what customers say they pay. These are the dated reports we could find from Australian and New Zealand businesses. Treat them as reports, not quotes: none shows whether GST is included or what add-ons are in the bill.
| Business | What they reported | Works out at | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| AU electrical contractor, 4 office staff and about 20 techs, with Digital Forms | “$25k a year” | about A$87 per person a month | Reddit, Jan 2026 |
| AU electrical business, “6 or so employees”, on the Lightning upgrade | “about 7grand a year” | about A$97 per person a month | Reddit, Sep 2026 |
| AU environmental services business, 11–50 staff, customer for 10+ years | “more than $250 per user licence per month”, plus a 15% increase | over A$250 per licence | Capterra AU, Oct 2026 |
| NZ construction business, 2–10 staff | NZ$200 per user a month, plus NZ$50 for the mobile app. Setup about NZ$6,000 after a discount. NZ$750 for three hours’ training | NZ$250 per user with the app | Capterra NZ, Mar 2026 |
| NZ construction business, 11–50 staff | A contract worth “$40,000+” that it later cancelled | – | Capterra NZ, Oct 2026 |
The two Reddit bills land close together once you divide by headcount: A$85 to A$100 per person a month, with office and field staff blended. Use that as a rough budget if your mix is similar. It won’t hold if most of your licences are office users, which is where the A$250+ figures come from.
What Simpro used to charge
Simpro did publish prices once. Archived copies of its Australian pricing page from 2016 and 2017 show a full rate card, in AUD excluding GST:
| Plan (2016–17) | Per office user, per month | Per field user, per month |
|---|---|---|
| simPRO Service | A$69 | A$29 |
| simPRO Enterprise | A$129 | A$39 |
| simPRO Corporate | A$249 | A$39 |
| simTRAC GPS | A$35 per vehicle | |
| simPRO eForms | A$14 per field user |
Source: Simpro’s AU pricing page, April 2017, via the Wayback Machine. The page said setup and training were extra, and the Service plan came with a 14-day free trial. By September 2020 the prices were gone and the page said pricing was “tailored to your business”.
The “A$249 per office user plus A$39 per field user” figure you’ll see on comparison sites is Simpro’s 2017 Corporate price. The 2026 customer reports above fit with prices having climbed from those levels over nine years, though without a current rate card we can’t prove it.
Setup, training and add-ons
The subscription isn’t the whole cost. Plan for:
- Setup fee. Simpro doesn’t publish it. The NZ report above paid about NZ$6,000 after a discount. In August 2021 Simpro advertised “50% off simPRO implementation. Savings of $700+”, which puts standard implementation for that package at A$1,400 or more back then.
- Training. Extra training sessions cost money. The NZ reviewer was quoted NZ$750 for three hours. An Australian reviewer said Simpro support referred them to outside consultants for paid half-day training.
- Add-ons. Each one adds to the monthly bill. Digital Forms (for test sheets, SWMS and certificates) is the one most service businesses end up needing.
- Card payments. Simpro Payments runs on Stripe. Simpro doesn’t publish the fees, and its Simpro Payments terms let it change them with 30 days’ notice. Get the rate in writing. Since 1 October 2026 Australian businesses can’t surcharge eftpos, Mastercard or Visa payments, so the fee comes out of your margin.
One Simpro customer on Reddit suggested a way to cut setup costs: start with the minimum number of licences and use an independent Simpro consultant for implementation, which they said should let you avoid Simpro’s own implementation fee. Ask Simpro whether that applies to you.
Contracts, Lightning and price rises
Simpro’s FAQ talks about monthly or annual billing. That’s different from the contract term. Customers report:
- Three or five-year terms. One Capterra AU reviewer was offered a three or five-year lock-in at an “expected” 8% a year (CPI plus 5%), tied to a minimum number of users, or “12% (subject to change)” a year without it.
- Automatic renewal. A customer upgrading to Lightning in June 2026 said the contract required “a 36-month commitment” with “automatic renewal for successive 36-month terms” (Reddit).
- Paying out early exits. An Australian construction business asked to leave early and was “told that we had to pay out the remainder of the contract” (Capterra AU, August 2026).
Lightning is Simpro’s AI upgrade, launched in May 2026. Simpro Group’s announcement offered it to existing customers at a “15% uplift to existing contracts” until 31 May 2026, and 25% after that. It came with a “Price Lock Guarantee: annual increases contractually capped at CPI + 3% for the life of the agreement”.
On a A$7,000 a year bill, that works out like this:
| Per year | |
|---|---|
| Current bill | A$7,000 |
| With the 15% launch uplift | A$8,050 |
| With the 25% standard uplift | A$8,750 |
| Year two at the cap, if CPI is 3% (so 6%) | A$9,275 |
The price lock caps how fast your price rises after the uplift. You still pay the uplift.
Is there a free trial?
No. Simpro offers a demo and a product tour. You can’t sign up and try it yourself, which is normal for software at this size. Simpro’s 2016–17 Service plan had a 14-day trial, but that’s long gone.
Simpro in New Zealand
Simpro sells in New Zealand with local implementation consultants. The only NZ price figures we could find are the Capterra NZ review above: NZ$200 per user a month, NZ$50 more for mobile, about NZ$6,000 for setup after a discount. Ask for your quote in NZD and check whether GST is included.
Simpro vs AroFlo on price
Simpro and AroFlo belong to the same group, Simpro Group, which K1 Investment Management bought into in 2021. AroFlo is the one you can price before talking to sales: from A$80 per user a month plus GST, with a three-user minimum and a setup fee from A$1,450. See the full AroFlo pricing breakdown.
On the Reddit thread above, one electrician suggested AroFlo as “more affordable, virtually the same platform”. The two are separate products with different apps, so compare them on your own workflow.
Who Simpro is worth it for
Simpro is built for established contractors with office staff, from about five people to 200 and more, running a mix of service, maintenance and project work. Its strengths are quoting and estimating, stock and purchasing, and multi-company setups.
From our own research:
- It’s the job app Australian employers name most in job ads. Of 468 current Seek ads that named a job management app, 279 named Simpro, well ahead of ServiceM8 (105) and AroFlo (69). That reflects bigger employers hiring more, but it also means you can hire office staff and techs who already know it.
- Its app rates lower than the lighter options. Simpro Mobile scores 4.1 on the Australian App Store (510 ratings), 3.6 on Google Play (903) and 3.6 on the Xero App Store (69 reviews). Capterra has it at 3.9 from 151 reviews. In recent 1 and 2-star app reviews, crashes and slowness came up most, then updates that made things worse.
Under about five people, you’d be paying for more system and a longer contract than you need.
Questions to ask before you sign
- What’s the price per office user and per field (mobile) user?
- Is the quote ex GST?
- Which add-ons are in the quote, and can I remove them mid-term?
- What does the setup fee include: hours, data migration, job history, training?
- How long is the term, and does it renew automatically? What’s the notice period?
- What’s the yearly price increase, and is the cap written into the contract?
- Is Lightning included, and at what uplift?
- What are the Simpro Payments card fees?
- What happens if I need to leave early, and how do I export my data?
Cheaper options with published prices

- ServiceM8: from A$29 a month inc GST for the whole business, with unlimited users on paid plans.
- Tradify: A$48 to A$62 per user a month (no GST charged if you’re GST-registered).
- Fergus: from A$53 per user a month plus GST, with cheaper timesheet-only users.
- AroFlo: from A$80 per user a month plus GST, for teams of three or more who need Simpro-style depth.
See ServiceM8 alternatives for how these compare, and job management software that works with Xero if your books are in Xero.
