How we keep the lights on

Software for Tradies is written and owned by Dan Edwards. It makes money in two ways.

1. Affiliate commissions

Some links to software companies are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, the software company may pay a commission. You pay the same price either way. Affiliate links go through a /go/ address on this site so they’re easy to spot.

Not every app on the site has an affiliate programme, and we review and rank apps without one the same way. We never use commission rates to decide rankings or verdicts.

2. Referrals to setup partners

If you ask for setup help, we put you in touch with a setup partner, who charges for their work. Some setup partners are businesses connected to the people behind this site, and we may benefit when you use them. Reviews mention the setup offer, but recommendations are based on what suits the reader, not on which apps our partners work with.

What doesn’t happen

• No software company pays to be reviewed, included or left out.
• No software company sees or approves a review before it goes live.
• No sponsored posts.
